2. What Data We Collect
Data You Provide
FilingEdu does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the App. You can access all core features — filing search, AI analysis, Learn center, and Quiz — without registering.
Anonymous Device ID
When you use community features (sentiment predictions, outcome ratings), the App generates an anonymous identifier for your device. This ID is not linked to your name, email address, or any personal information. It is used solely to store your predictions and ratings in our database.
Usage Data
We collect basic usage data to improve the App, including:
- Tickers searched
- Filings viewed
- AI analysis calls made (for daily usage limit enforcement)
- Quiz scores and category selections
This data is anonymous and not linked to any personal identifier.
Watchlist Data
Your watchlist (up to 10 tickers) is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers.
3. Advertising — Google AdMob
FilingEdu displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. We have configured AdMob to serve non-personalised ads only. This means:
- Ads are not targeted based on your browsing history or personal profile
- AdMob may still use contextual signals (e.g. app category, general location) to serve relevant ads
- No personal data is shared with advertisers

4. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Operate and improve the App
- Enforce the daily AI analysis limit (3 free calls per day)
- Display community sentiment data (aggregated, anonymous)
- Diagnose technical issues
We do not:
- Sell your data to any third party
- Use your data to build a personal profile
- Share your data with advertisers
- Link your usage data to any personal identity
5. Data Storage and Processors
Supabase — We use Supabase (supabase.com) as our database provider. Anonymous community data (predictions, ratings) is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase is GDPR compliant and acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Anthropic — AI filing analysis is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Filing content submitted for analysis is processed by Anthropic's servers and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy). We do not submit any personal user data to Anthropic — only SEC filing metadata and content.
Google AdMob — Advertising is served by Google AdMob. See Section 3 above.
All data processors are contractually required to handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
6. Data Retention
Anonymous usage data and community predictions are retained for as long as necessary to operate the App. You may request deletion of any data associated with your anonymous device ID by contacting us at support@filingedu.com.
7. Children's Privacy
FilingEdu is rated 17+ and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your data including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since FilingEdu does not collect personally identifiable information, most of these rights are satisfied by design. For any data request, contact us at support@filingedu.com.
California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. Contact us at the address below.
European residents (GDPR): Our lawful basis for processing anonymous usage data is legitimate interest in operating and improving the App. Non-personalised ads do not require consent under our current configuration. Contact us for any data subject requests.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold. All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Our database provider (Supabase) maintains industry-standard security practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
